Eliza-Jane Scott has established herself as one of Canada’s preeminent musical theatre actors.
Her portrayal of pilot Beverley Bass in the critically acclaimed Come From Away has earned her
rave reviews and fans across the country.

She has had an exceptionally busy few years, performing in the Dora Award winning Spoon
River for Soulpepper Theatre Company, starring as Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music for
The National Arts Centre in Ottawa as well as starring as Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! for
The Confederation Centre of the Arts, all for which she received unanimous praise. She earned
a Dora Nomination for her emotionally raw and touching performance in Elegies: A Song Cycle
for The Musical Stage Company.

She also developed and directed the world premiere of A Misfortune, a new musical adapted
from the Chekhov short story for The Confederation Centre of the Arts which enthralled
audiences in its sold out run. She most recently developed and produced the critically acclaimed
new musical B!TCH ISLAND at the Hamilton Fringe Festival, which took home four prizes
including Best of Fringe. And the highlight of her year was performing Me and The Sky for Prime
Minister Justin Trudeau in St. John’s Newfoundland.

A native of Kingston Ontario, Eliza-Jane is a graduate of the University of Windsor where she
earned her honours degree in Acting. After finishing school she returned to Toronto and made
her debut as The Teacher in Godspell Unplugged opposite The Strain’s Kevin Durand. She has
performed in theatres across Canada and the US and has worked with many outstanding and
award winning directors and choreographers such as Christopher Ashley, Susan Stroman,
Lezlie Wade, Gary Griffin, Jillian Keiley, Gordon Greenberg, Warren Carlyle and Kelly Devine
among many others.

She also holds a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University and is the recipient of the
Project Hero Award for distinguished teaching. She was the Head of Theatre Studies at Ashbury
College and continues to teach as part time faculty in the Bachelor of Musical Theatre
Performance Program at the world renowned Sheridan College. She recently was honoured to
give the closing address to the graduating class of 2018 at Randolph Academy for Performing
Arts.

She lives in Hamilton with her husband Rick and their son Ducolon, harassed and generally
abused by their pets Penner and The Empress Mimiyuki.
